Portion of East Plum Creek Trail to close temporarily for construction
A half-mile portion of the East Plum Creek Trail will close Jan. 21 for about 90 days as crews work to improve the nearby creek.
Crews will install a drop structure to East Plum Creek to raise the channel bed and protect the recently constructed bridge at Plum Creek Parkway from stream erosion. These improvements provide for a healthier stream system and enhance the landscape along the creek corridor.
During this work, the East Plum Creek Trail, which runs along East Plum Creek, will be closed from near Second and Wilcox streets to South Wilcox Street, south of Rio Grande Drive.
The trail closure is required to maintain safety, as there will be construction traffic on the trail. In addition, portions of the trail will be removed and then repaired as the drop structure is installed.
The Town has more than 50 miles of soft-surface and paved trails. For a look at other trails and trail maps, visit CRgov.com/trails.
