Douglas/Elbert Task Force Partners With BlueStar Recyclers May 18, 2013 For Electronics Recycling Event!

go green recycling symbolCastle Rock, Colorado (May 1, 2013) — Douglas/Elbert Task Force is partnering with BlueStar Recylers of Colorado Springs as part of its bi-annual Electronics Recycling Event. Proceeds raised from gross materials recycled in excess of 2,000 pounds will benefit the Douglas/Elbert Task Force Food Bank.

May 18, 2013

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Take your electronic recyclables to Castle Rock Middle School, located at 2575 Meadows Boulevard, in Castle Rock, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Fees are:  monitors, up to 21” – $10 each; TVs – $1 per inch (measured diagonally); hard drive destruction – $5 each

All other recycling is free.

The Douglas/Elbert County Task Force will also accept non-perishable food items for the Food Bank as well as monetary donations.

The Electronics Recycling Event assists the Douglas/Elbert Task Force in its mission to “to endeavor to meet the immediate needs of residents of Douglas and Elbert County who are in financial distress and at risk of becoming homeless, to help them work through troublesome times with dignity.”

The Douglas/Elbert Task Force was voted to be the best local non-profit organization in 2012 by Colorado Media Newspaper readers. “This is an opportunity to help feed hungry children in our community and do something good for the planet at the same time,” said Suzanne Greene, Executive Director of the D/ETF.

BlueStar Recyclers was named as the 2011 Recycler of the Year by the Colorado Association of Recyclers and voted best new non-profit in Colorado Springs for 2012. Janet Kaparoff, Event Coordinator for BlueStar is looking forward to partnering again with the Douglas/Elbert Task Force on this event.
