A popular Castle Rock brewpub has stepped up to give  $1 from the sale of every pizza to help residents in need!

Castle Rock, Colorado (July 25, 2013) – Rockyard American Grill & Brewing Company, one of Douglas County’s most popular eateries, is proud to announce its partnership with the Douglas/Elbert Task Force. One dollar from the sale of every handcrafted Rockyard pizza will be donated to the Task Force to help meet the needs of Douglas and Elbert County residents experiencing financial hardship.

“We’re always looking for ways to give back to the community we love so much,” said Jeff Drabing, founder and co-owner of the Rockyard. “The Douglas/Elbert Task Force is a local charity that helps thousands of our neighbors every year. We think it’s a perfect fit for us.”

In addition to donating one dollar from the sale of every pizza, the Rockyard is the presenting sponsor of the Douglas/Elbert Task Force 30 Year Celebration to be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Event Center February 16, 2014.

The band Firefall will headline the concert and fundraising event. A charity golf tournament is also in the works.

“We’re thrilled to have the support of an establishment like the Rockyard,” said Joe Roos, directory of philanthropy for the Task Force. “The visibility they can bring to our mission of assisting Douglas and Elbert County residents in need is almost as important as the donations from their pizzas. It’s going to be a great partnership.”

The Douglas/Elbert Task Force has provided assistance to residents of Douglas and Elbert County who are in serious economic need, at risk of homelessness or in similar crisis since 1984. Donations from the Rockyard are hoped to exceed $30,000 in the first year of the partnership and will be used to provide food, toiletries, household items, clothing and other assistance to county residents.
