Introducing Rockyard Brewing’s Whiskey River Stout

Rockyard American Grill & Brewing CompanyCASTLE ROCK, COLO. (October 1, 2013) – Rockyard American Grill & Brewing Company will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of its Whiskey River Stout to help residents of Colorado impacted by the recent flooding in the state. Aged for 9 months in Breckenridge Distillery whiskey barrels, the Whiskey River Stout is a limited quantity, special Rockyard release that will be tapped October 3. It will be available at the Rockyard brewpub in Castle Rock and select area retailers.

All Rockyard Whiskey River Stout proceeds will be donated to the CAN’d Aid Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization launched last week by the Oskar Blues Brewery based in Longmont.

“We were initially working with our friends at the Colorado Brewers Guild on a way to help employees and families of breweries affected by the floods,” said Jim Stinson, Rockyard brewmaster. “Colorado breweries are a tight-knit group. We weren’t impacted by the floods but wanted to give back to those who were. We learned of the CAN’d Aid Foundation and think it’s the perfect way to help out the whole community.”

The CAN’d Aid Foundation, in the planning stages for some time, was fast-tracked to provide immediate assistance to those affected by the floods. “We’re grateful for the Rockyard’s generous support,” said Diana Ralston, executive director of the foundation. “It just goes to show how much Colorado craft breweries care about the people of our state.” To make your own donation to benefit flood victims visit www.foundation.oskarblues.com or just stop in to the Rockyard after October 3rd for a Whiskey River Stout.

This isn’t the first time The Rockyard has been involved with helping out those folks that are less fortunate in the area. This popular brew pub is also donating $1 of any pizza sales to the Douglas / Elbert County Task Force.
